Here's another Swedish advert, this time a little more weird. Here's the background: "Unionen is a Swedish union for civil servants. Last year they launched the concept "Powers out of the ordinary - at work". Showing members whose new found confidence and skill in their work place have gone to their heads. They've started thinking in terms of "If Bruce Wayne can be Batman, i can be Organizerman". By ANR BBDO.

Why does he have a pet seagull? Answers on a postcard... Oh, I just found this explanation: "Cultural sidenote: in the spot featuring a seagull, in Swedish "big gull" apparently has a double meaning. It can refer to the bird, of course, but it also means "big mouth." So when Organizerman brings his gull to work, it looks like he's surely in for it."

It appears that there are lots more, but so far without English subtitles. I like this one, even if you can't understand a word they're saying.

I spent the weekend in Malmö, Sweden and saw this ad on TV. I think it's super. Simple, personal and somehow a little inspiring.

I love these print ads for Waterloo Gin from (aptly named) Proof Advertising. Copenhagen has had a scorching weekend. I can only hope it's a taster of what summer will bring. Although I doubt it. I'll also probably be drinking more Pimms than gin, but there you go.

I'm never sure of these shorts for fashion houses and, well, pretty much anything to be honest, but I like this quite a lot. Possibly because I'm a huge fan of Helena Bonham Carter, and Ben Kingsley isn't exactly crap either. Oh, and then of course there's Roman Polanski (although he does creep me out a bit), but also because it's all rather tongue-in-cheek.

This Durex online ad by Euro RSCG was recently cleared by the ASA (I know, right?) after people had complained about it's sexual content. It is sexy, no doubt about that, but oh so refreshing to see something let go by the ASA.

Siri Scares Me

Am I the only one who gets creeped out by her voice? Although, I don't think it's just her voice, it's the whole idea of this computer being a substitute for people. People may moan about Facebook ruining social lives and all that crap, but Siri really takes it one step futher. Or has the prospective possibility to do so at least. I can't be the only one who can hear her saying "I'm sorry, John. I'm afraid I can't do that." It's all very Skynet.

On a side note, John Malcovich really does have the most amazing voice, doesn't he.
